White Sands and ballet at the Museum of the Southwest
“Dance as the narration of a magical story; that recites on lips, illuminates imaginations and embraces the most sacred depths of souls.”
― Shah Asad Rizvi, poet
So grateful to the Midland Festival Ballet and particularly Rachel Kerr Ritter, executive director, for allowing me to photograph five of the dancers from their Nutcracker, at the Museum of the Southwest. There is something magical about seeing ballet performed among one’s photographic visions. I see synergy in the graceful lines of the dancers echoed in the magnificent gleaming dunes at White Sands National Monument. Saw the performance Saturday night—Bravo to everyone in the company and particularly Karina Gonzalez Edwards who all so powerfully fulfilled Tchaikovsky’s vision. Thank you.
