NEW | THE POETRY OF CLOUDS

NEW | THE POETRY OF CLOUDS
Clouds have traveled with me for as long as I can remember, patient companions drifting at the edge of sight, lifting themselves from valleys and plains with the quiet persistence of breath. They rise, gather, fall apart, and return again in patterns older than our brief histories. In them I have always sensed a kind of ancient wandering, a reminder that the sky is never finished with us.
The Poetry of Clouds grew from years spent watching that restless kingdom overhead. Each photograph is a small attempt to hold a fleeting transformation, a moment in which the sky rearranges the world below and reveals something we rarely pause to notice. I have never thought of these images as trophies. They are more like field notes from a life lived under shifting light, fragments rescued from motion.
The book also carries the voice of Polly Shattuck, who serves as the writer for this project. Once my student and now a steady partner in the practice of looking, she brings a clarity that enriches the work. She has studied my photographs for years and writes with an intuition that follows the hidden paths of weather. Her words do not describe the images so much as listen to them. They settle into the pages like wind easing through stone corridors, deepening the quiet instead of breaking it.
This is a small offering, shaped by hand and intention rather than industry. Only one hundred soft-cover copies of The Poetry of Clouds will be available, each signed, each prepared with care before it leaves the studio. It is meant for those who still believe in the power of a limited object, something carried from one person to another the way stories once traveled across firesides. The book can be found only through my studio store, waiting for whoever feels the pull of weather and wonder.
